Composition
Each tablet contains:
- Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 60 mg (decongestant)
- Triprolidine hydrochloride 2.5 mg (antihistamine)
These two act together to relieve blocked nose and allergy symptoms.
Uses / Indications
Used for symptomatic relief of upper respiratory conditions such as:
- Common cold and flu
- Allergic rhinitis (hay fever)
- Vasomotor rhinitis
- Nasal congestion (blocked nose)
- Runny nose, sneezing, and watery eyes
Direction of Use
- Adults and children over 12 years: 1 tablet every 4–6 hours
- Maximum: 4 tablets in 24 hours
- Oral use only
- Do not exceed recommended dose
- Short-term use only (for acute cold/allergy symptoms)
Side Effects
Common or possible effects include:
- Drowsiness or sedation
- Dizziness
- Dry mouth, dry nose
- Difficulty sleeping (due to stimulant effect of pseudoephedrine)
- Nausea or stomach upset
- Headache
More serious (less common):
- Fast or irregular heartbeat
- Anxiety, restlessness
- Confusion or hallucinations
- High blood pressure
Warnings / Precautions
- May cause drowsiness → avoid driving or machinery
- Avoid alcohol (increases sedation)
- Not suitable for children under 12 years
- Use caution in:
- High blood pressure
- Heart disease
- Diabetes
- Thyroid problems
- Glaucoma
- Enlarged prostate
- Do not use with MAO inhibitors (risk of dangerous blood pressure rise)
- Stop use if hallucinations, severe agitation, or chest pain occurs
Drug Interactions
- MAO inhibitors (very dangerous interaction)
- Other decongestants (risk of overdose effects)
- Antidepressants (can increase side effects)
- Alcohol, sedatives, sleeping tablets (increased drowsiness)
- Stimulants (may increase heart rate/BP)
Contraindications / Caution
Avoid if:
- Allergy to pseudoephedrine or triprolidine
- Severe hypertension or heart disease
- Severe kidney disease
- Hyperthyroidism
- Closed-angle glaucoma
- Urinary retention conditions
- Recent use of MAO inhibitors (within 14 days)
