1. Composition
- Theophylline – 120 mg per tablet
- Ephedrine – 11 mg per tablet
Other inactive ingredients: starch, lactose, magnesium stearate, etc.

2. Uses / Indications
Asmanol tablets are used for:
- Relief and prevention of bronchospasm
- Asthma management
- Chronic bronchitis and COPD
- Wheezing, shortness of breath, and airway obstruction
Mechanism of action:
- Theophylline: relaxes bronchial smooth muscles, improves airflow, mild anti-inflammatory effect
- Ephedrine: stimulates β2-adrenergic receptors, causing bronchodilation and opening of airways
3. Direction for Use
(Dosage depends on doctor’s prescription)
- Adults: usually 1 tablet 2–3 times daily
- Children: dose adjusted by age/weight by a healthcare professional
- Take orally with water, with or after food to reduce stomach irritation
4. Side Effects
Common side effects:
- Tremors or shakiness
- Nervousness, restlessness
- Headache
- Palpitations or fast heartbeat
- Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset
- Insomnia
Serious side effects (rare):
- Irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia)
- Seizures (with high theophylline levels)
- High blood pressure (from ephedrine)
