Composition
Each tablet contains:
- Paracetamol 250 mg (pain relief and fever reduction)
- Guaifenesin 100 mg (expectorant that loosens mucus)
- Phenylephrine hydrochloride 5 mg (nasal decongestant)
These work together for multi-symptom cold and flu relief.
Uses / Indications
- Cold and flu symptoms
- Chesty (productive) cough
- Blocked nose and sinus congestion
- Headache, fever, and body aches
- Sore throat
- Catarrh and chest mucus
It is designed as an “all-in-one” cold and flu medicine for multiple symptoms at once.
Direction of Use
- Adults and children 12 years and over
- 2 tablets every 4 hours as needed
- Maximum 8 tablets in 24 hours
- Do not use for more than 5 days
- Swallow with water
- Do not exceed recommended dose
Side Effects
Possible effects include:
- Nausea or vomiting
- Headache or dizziness
- Difficulty sleeping
- Nervousness or anxiety
- Increased blood pressure
- Skin rash or allergic reactions
- Rare: fast heartbeat or urinary retention
Overdose risk mainly comes from paracetamol (liver damage) if combined with other paracetamol medicines.
Warnings / Precautions
- Contains paracetamol → do NOT take with other paracetamol products
- Avoid alcohol (increases liver risk)
- Can increase blood pressure (phenylephrine)
- Use carefully in:
- High blood pressure
- Heart disease
- Diabetes
- Thyroid disorders
- Glaucoma
- Prostate enlargement
- Do not use with MAO inhibitors (dangerous interaction)
- May cause dizziness → avoid driving if affected
Drug Interactions
- MAO inhibitors (very dangerous)
- Other decongestants (overdose effects)
- Antidepressants (especially tricyclics/SSRIs)
- Beta-blockers and blood pressure medicines
- Alcohol
- Other paracetamol-containing medicines
Contraindications / Caution
Avoid if:
- Allergy to any ingredient
- Severe liver or kidney disease
- Severe high blood pressure or heart disease
- Hyperthyroidism
- Glaucoma
- Enlarged prostate
- Recent MAOI use (within 14 days)
