Composition:
Typically contains:
- Camphor
- Menthol
- Eucalyptus oil
- White soft paraffin / petroleum jelly base
(Some formulations may also include limonene or linalool depending on batch/market)
- Relief of nasal congestion due to colds and flu
- Helps ease breathing by inhalation of menthol vapours
- May also provide relief from minor muscular aches and chest discomfort associated with colds
Direction of Use:
- Apply a small amount to chest, throat, and back
- Can also be applied under (not inside) the nostrils for inhalation effect
- Usually used 2–3 times daily, especially before bedtime
- Alternatively, can be added to hot (not boiling) water for steam inhalation
Side Effects:
- Mild skin irritation
- Redness or itching at application site
- Burning or stinging sensation
- Allergic skin reactions (rare)
Warnings:
- For external use only
- Do not ingest
- Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes
- Do not apply inside nostrils or on broken skin
- Keep out of reach of children
- Flammable: avoid exposure to flames or heat sources after application
