Composition

• Tadalafil 20 mg
• Drug class: PDE-5 inhibitor

Uses / Indications

Used for:

• Erectile dysfunction (difficulty achieving or maintaining erection)
• Sometimes used for:
• Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) symptoms (lower doses)
• Pulmonary arterial hypertension (different dosing regimen)

Direction for Use

• Usually taken as needed before sexual activity
• Take about 30–60 minutes before intercourse
• Effects can last up to 36 hours
• Do not take more than one dose in 24 hours
• Can be taken with or without food

Side Effects

Common:

• Headache
• Flushing (warm face)
• Nasal congestion
• Back pain
• Muscle aches
• Indigestion

Less common:

• Dizziness
• Blurred vision

Serious (rare):

• Prolonged erection (priapism) → medical emergency
• Sudden hearing or vision loss
• Severe drop in blood pressure

Warnings

• Do NOT use with nitrate medicines (e.g., nitroglycerin) → can cause dangerous hypotension
• Avoid excessive alcohol → increases dizziness and low blood pressure
• Use cautiously in:
• Heart disease
• Stroke history
• Low blood pressure
• Severe liver or kidney disease

Interactions

May interact with:

• Amlodipine → additive blood pressure lowering
• Alpha-blockers (for prostate or BP)
• Some antifungal and antibiotic medicines (can increase tadalafil levels)
• Other ED drugs → dangerous additive effects

Cautions

Use carefully in:

• Elderly patients
• Cardiovascular disease patients
• Patients on multiple blood pressure medicines
• Liver or kidney impairment
