Composition

• Active ingredient: Clopidogrel 75 mg
• Drug class: Antiplatelet (P2Y12 inhibitor)

Indication / Uses

Used for:

• Prevention of blood clots
• Reducing risk of heart attack and stroke
• Treatment of peripheral artery disease
• After placement of coronary stents

Direction of Use

• Usually taken once daily
• Take at the same time each day
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow whole with water
• Use exactly as prescribed (do not stop suddenly unless instructed)

Side Effects

Common side effects may include:

• Easy bruising
• Nosebleeds
• Mild stomach upset
• Diarrhea

Serious side effects (seek medical help):

• Severe bleeding (black stools, vomiting blood, blood in urine)
• Unusual bruising or prolonged bleeding
• Severe allergic reaction (rash, swelling, difficulty breathing)

Warnings

• Increased risk of bleeding (including internal bleeding)
• Inform healthcare providers before surgery or dental procedures
• Use cautiously in patients with bleeding disorders or ulcers
• Do not combine with other blood thinners unless prescribed

Interactions

May interact with:

• Aspirin and other NSAIDs (increase bleeding risk)
• Anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin, heparin)
• Some proton pump inhibitors (e.g., omeprazole may reduce effect)
• Certain antidepressants (SSRIs/SNRIs)
• Other antiplatelet medicines

Caution

• Avoid activities with high injury risk
• Limit alcohol (increases bleeding risk)
• Report any unusual bleeding immediately
• Not recommended during active bleeding conditions unless supervised by a doctor
