Composition
Each 10 ml ampoule contains:
- Cyproheptadine (α-ketoglutarate) 3 mg (antihistamine with appetite-stimulating effect)
- Arginine aspartate 1 g (amino acid complex)
- Excipients: sugars (sucrose), sorbitol, flavoring agents
Indication / Uses
Used for:
- Loss of appetite (anorexia)
- Underweight or poor nutritional intake
- Fatigue or weakness (asthenia)
- Recovery from illness (convalescence)
- Poor growth or malnutrition (in children and adults)
Direction of Use
- Usually taken as 10 ml ampoule 1–3 times daily
- Preferably taken 30 minutes before meals
- Do not exceed the prescribed dose
- Use only for short-term treatment (often limited duration under medical supervision)
Side Effects
Common:
- Drowsiness or sleepiness
- Increased appetite
- Weight gain
- Dry mouth
- Dizziness
Less common / serious:
- Confusion or agitation (especially in children)
- Allergic reactions (rash, swelling)
- Blurred vision
- Constipation
Warnings
- May cause strong sleepiness → avoid driving or machinery
- Not recommended in:
- Glaucoma
- Prostate enlargement
- Severe liver/kidney disease
- Can cause behavioural changes in children
- Should not be used long-term without medical review
Interactions
May interact with:
- Alcohol (increases sedation)
- Sleeping tablets or sedatives
- Anxiety medications (benzodiazepines)
- Other antihistamines
- CNS depressants
Caution
- Use carefully in children (higher sensitivity)
- Avoid alcohol completely during treatment
- Do not combine with other appetite stimulants unless prescribed
- Stop and seek medical advice if unusual mood changes or severe drowsiness occur
