Active Ingredient
Use / Indications
Used for emergency contraception to help prevent pregnancy after:
- Unprotected sexual intercourse
- Condom breakage or slippage
- Missed contraceptive pills
- Other contraceptive failure
It should be taken within 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected sex.
Dosage
- One tablet (30 mg) taken once only
- Take as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse
- Can be taken with or without food
- If vomiting occurs within 3 hours of taking the tablet, another tablet should be taken.
How It Works
Ulipristal acetate works mainly by delaying or preventing ovulation, reducing the chance of pregnancy occurring.
