Composition

  • Active ingredient: Ibuprofen 400 mg

Uses / Indications

Used for:

  • Pain relief (headache, toothache, muscle pain)
  • Fever reduction
  • Menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea)
  • Back pain and joint pain
  • Mild to moderate inflammation (sprains, arthritis flares)

 

Direction for Use

  • Take with food or milk to reduce stomach irritation
  • Usually taken every 6–8 hours as needed
  • Swallow with a full glass of water
  • Do not exceed recommended daily dose
  • Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time

 

Side Effects

Common side effects:

  • Stomach upset or pain
  • Heartburn
  • Nausea
  • Dizziness
  • Mild headache

 

Serious side effects:

  • Stomach ulcer or bleeding
  • Black/tarry stools or vomiting blood
  • Kidney damage (especially with long use or dehydration)
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Allergic reactions (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty)

 

Warnings

  • Avoid in:
    • Active stomach ulcer or bleeding
    • Severe kidney disease
    • Severe heart failure
  • Can increase risk of heart attack or stroke with long-term use
  • Not recommended in late pregnancy (can harm baby’s circulation)
  • May worsen asthma in some patients

 

Interactions

May interact with:

  • Other NSAIDs (e.g., diclofenac, aspirin at high doses)
  • Blood thinners (warfarin, clopidogrel)
  • Blood pressure medicines (may reduce effectiveness)
  • Diuretics (“water tablets”)
  • Lithium
  • Methotrexate
  • Alcohol (increases stomach bleeding risk)

 

Cautions / Precautions

  • Take only when needed, not continuously unless prescribed
  • Drink enough water to protect kidneys
  • Avoid combining with multiple painkillers without advice
  • Use cautiously in:
    • Elderly patients
    • Kidney disease
    • Heart disease
    • Stomach ulcer history
  • Stop and seek help if:
