Composition
Each 5 ml typically contains:
- Ammonium Chloride 125 mg → expectorant (loosens mucus/phlegm)
- Chlorpheniramine Maleate 4 mg → antihistamine (reduces runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes)
- Sodium Citrate 55 mg → mucolytic (helps break down thick mucus)
- Menthol 1 mg → soothes throat and reduces irritation
This is a multi-action chesty cough medicine for children.
Uses / Indications
- Chesty (productive) cough with mucus
- Chest congestion and phlegm build-up
- Cold symptoms with cough
- Runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes (allergy-related symptoms)
- Throat irritation from cough
Direction of Use
- Children 6–12 years: usually 5 ml (1 teaspoon)
- Taken up to 3 times daily
- Use only short-term
- Shake well before use
- Do not exceed recommended dose without medical advice
Side Effects
Possible effects include:
- Drowsiness (from chlorpheniramine)
- Dry mouth
- Dizziness
- Nausea or stomach upset
- Restlessness (less common in children)
- Rare: allergic reaction (rash, swelling)
Warnings / Precautions
- May cause sleepiness → avoid activities requiring alertness
- Use cautiously in children with:

- thyroid problems
