Composition

• Esomeprazole 10 mg
  (Usually provided as granules for oral suspension in a sachet.)

Use / Indication

Used for:

• Acid reflux (GERD)
• Heartburn
• Stomach and duodenal ulcers
• Gastritis
• Excess stomach acid conditions
• Protection against ulcers caused by NSAIDs

Direction of Use

• Use exactly as prescribed
• Empty sachet contents into water as directed and mix well
• Take before meals, usually at least 1 hour before eating
• Do not chew the granules
• Use immediately after preparation

Side Effects

Common side effects:

• Headache
• Nausea
• Diarrhea
• Constipation
• Abdominal pain
• Flatulence

Serious side effects:

• Severe allergic reaction
• Persistent diarrhea
• Low magnesium levels
• Kidney problems
• Vitamin B12 deficiency with long-term use

Warning

• Long-term use may increase risk of fractures and nutrient deficiencies
• May hide symptoms of serious stomach disease
• Inform doctor if you have unexplained weight loss, vomiting, or black stools
• Use cautiously in liver disease

Interaction

May interact with:

• Clopidogrel
• Warfarin
• Digoxin
• Methotrexate
• Ketoconazole
• Iron supplements
• Certain HIV medicines

Caution

• Avoid prolonged use without medical supervision
• Use carefully during pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Follow preparation instructions properly
• Seek medical advice if symptoms persist or worsen
