Interactions
- Very few clinically significant interactions
- If using other eye drops:
- Wait 5–10 minutes between products
- Use medicated drops first, lubricants last (general rule)
Caution
- Overuse is generally safe, but:
- Preservatives (if present) may irritate very sensitive eyes with frequent use
- May temporarily blur vision → avoid driving immediately after instillation
- If dry eye is chronic, underlying causes (e.g., meibomian gland dysfunction) may need treatment, not just lubricants
- Contact lens users should confirm compatibility with their specific Optrex variant
