Composition

  • Active ingredient: Oxybutynin chloride 2.5 mg

Indication / Uses

Used for:

  • Overactive bladder (OAB)
  • Urinary urgency (sudden urge to urinate)
  • Urinary frequency
  • Urge incontinence (loss of bladder control)
  • Bladder spasms

 

Direction of Use

  • Usually taken 2–3 times daily (or as prescribed)
  • Take with or without food
  • Swallow with water
  • Take at the same times each day
  • Do not crush extended-release forms (if applicable)

 

Side Effects

Common side effects may include:

  • Dry mouth
  • Constipation
  • Drowsiness
  • Dizziness
  • Blurred vision
  • Dry eyes
  • Reduced sweating

Serious side effects (seek medical help):

  • Difficulty urinating or urinary retention
  • Confusion or hallucinations (especially in elderly)
  • Fast or irregular heartbeat
  • Severe allergic reaction

 

Warnings

  • May cause overheating due to reduced sweating
  • Can worsen glaucoma (especially narrow-angle glaucoma)
  • Use cautiously in elderly patients (risk of confusion)
  • May worsen urinary retention in men with enlarged prostate
