Composition
Each tablet contains:
- Paracetamol 500 mg
- Caffeine 65 mg
It is a combination painkiller + stimulant. The caffeine helps boost and speed up the effect of paracetamol.
Uses / Indications
Used for stronger or “tough” pain relief, including:
- Headache and migraine
- Toothache
- Backache and muscle pain
- Period pain
- Rheumatic pain
- Fever and aches from cold and flu
Direction of Use
- Adults and children 16 years and over
- Usually 2 tablets every 4–6 hours as needed
- Maximum 8 tablets in 24 hours
- Do not take more frequently than every 4 hours
Side Effects
Common or possible:
- Restlessness or difficulty sleeping (from caffeine)
- Nervousness or jitteriness
- Nausea or stomach upset
- Increased heart rate (in sensitive people)
Serious (rare but important):
- Allergic reactions (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty)
- Liver damage in overdose (paracetamol risk)
- Very rare serious skin reactions
Warnings / Precautions
- Do NOT combine with other paracetamol medicines (Lemsip, Beechams, Day Nurse, etc.)
- Avoid excess caffeine (coffee/energy drinks → insomnia, palpitations)
- Avoid alcohol (increases liver damage risk)
- Use carefully in:
- Liver disease
- Kidney disease
- Regular alcohol use
- Malnutrition or fasting states
- Overdose is dangerous even if you initially feel fine (can cause delayed liver injury)
Drug Interactions
- Other paracetamol-containing products
- Alcohol
- Some antibiotics (rare liver interaction risk, e.g. flucloxacillin)
- Medicines affecting liver metabolism
- High caffeine intake (additive stimulant effects)
Contraindications / Caution
Avoid if:
- Allergy to paracetamol or caffeine
- Severe liver disease
