Composition

• Rabeprazole sodium 10mg
  

Use / Indication

Used for:

• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
• Acid reflux
• Peptic ulcer disease
• Gastritis
• Zollinger–Ellison syndrome
• Prevention of stomach ulcers caused by NSAIDs
• Part of treatment for Helicobacter pylori infection

Direction of Use

• Take exactly as prescribed
• Usually taken once daily before meals
• Swallow tablet whole; do not crush or chew
• Continue full course even if symptoms improve

Side Effects

Common side effects:

• Headache
• Nausea
• Abdominal pain
• Diarrhea
• Constipation
• Flatulence

Serious side effects:

• Severe allergic reaction
• Low magnesium levels
• Persistent diarrhea
• Kidney problems
• Vitamin B12 deficiency with long-term use

Warning

• Long-term use may increase risk of bone fractures
• May mask symptoms of stomach cancer
• Use cautiously in severe liver disease
• Inform doctor if you have persistent weight loss, vomiting, or black stools

Interaction

May interact with:

• Ketoconazole
• Digoxin
• Methotrexate
• Warfarin
• Iron supplements
• HIV medicines such as atazanavir

Caution

• Avoid self-medication for long periods
• Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if prescribed
• Regular monitoring may be needed for prolonged treatment
• Report persistent stomach pain or unusual symptoms promptly
