Composition
Each tablet contains:
- Paracetamol 500 mg → relieves pain and fever
- Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 30 mg → decongestant that relieves blocked nose and sinus pressure
This combination is used for cold, flu, and sinus symptoms.
Uses / Indications
- Blocked or stuffy nose
- Sinus congestion and pressure
- Headache from cold or sinusitis
- Fever
- Cold and flu symptoms
- Allergic or non-allergic rhinitis
Direction of Use
- Adults and children 16 years and over
- Usually 2 tablets every 4–6 hours
- Maximum 8 tablets in 24 hours
- Short-term use only
- Swallow with water
Side Effects
Common effects:
- Nervousness or restlessness
- Difficulty sleeping
- Dizziness
- Nausea or stomach upset
- Dry mouth or throat
Less common but important:
- Fast heartbeat or palpitations
- High blood pressure
- Anxiety or agitation
- Urinary retention
- Rare confusion or hallucinations
Warnings / Precautions
- Contains paracetamol → avoid other paracetamol medicines (liver risk)
- Contains pseudoephedrine → may raise blood pressure and heart rate
- Avoid alcohol (increases side effects and liver strain)
- Not suitable for:
- Severe hypertension or heart disease
- Hyperthyroidism
- Glaucoma
- Prostate enlargement
- Avoid driving if you feel dizzy or restless
- Do not use with MAO inhibitors (dangerous interaction)
Drug Interactions
- MAO inhibitors (very dangerous blood pressure reaction)
- Other decongestants or cold medicines
- Antidepressants (tricyclics/SSRIs)
- Blood pressure medicines (reduced effectiveness)
- Alcohol
- Other paracetamol-containing products
Contraindications / Caution
Avoid if:
- Allergy to paracetamol or pseudoephedrine
- Severe high blood pressure
- Serious heart disease
- Severe liver or kidney disease
- Hyperthyroidism
- Recent MAOI use (within 14 days)
