Composition
- Active ingredient: Tadalafil 20 mg
- Drug class: PDE-5 inhibitor (phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor)
Uses / Indications
Used for:
- Erectile dysfunction (ED)
- Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH/enlarged prostate)
- Pulmonary arterial hypertension (in some prescribed cases)
Direction for Use
For erectile dysfunction:
- Usually taken 30–60 minutes before sexual activity
- Effects may last up to 36 hours
- Do not take more than once daily
- Can be taken with or without food
- Sexual stimulation is still required for effect
For daily use/BPH:
- Lower daily doses are usually prescribed by a doctor
Side Effects
Common side effects:
- Headache
- Back pain
- Muscle aches
- Flushing
- Nasal congestion
- Indigestion
- Dizziness
Serious side effects:
- Chest pain
- Sudden vision or hearing loss
- Prolonged erection (priapism)
- Severe allergic reaction
- Fainting
Warnings
- Do NOT use with nitrate medications (for chest pain)
- Can cause dangerous low blood pressure
- Use cautiously in:
- Heart disease
- Kidney disease
- Liver disease
- Recent stroke or heart attack
- Avoid excessive alcohol intake
Interactions
May interact with:
- Nitrates (nitroglycerin, isosorbide)
- Alpha-blockers
- Blood pressure medications
- Certain antibiotics and antifungals
- HIV medicines
- Alcohol
- Other erectile dysfunction drugs
Cautions / Precautions
- Seek emergency care if erection lasts more than 4 hours
- Avoid driving if dizzy
- Limit alcohol consumption
- Inform doctor about heart conditions before use
- Use only under medical supervision if elderly or taking multiple medications
