Composition

Ferrous fumarate provides elemental iron required for haemoglobin synthesis and treatment of iron deficiency anaemia.
Folic acid supports red blood cell formation and DNA synthesis.
Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) is essential for red blood cell production and neurological function.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) supports protein metabolism and haemoglobin formation.
Vitamin B1 (thiamine) supports energy metabolism and normal nerve function.
Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) supports energy production and cellular health.
Vitamin C enhances iron absorption and supports antioxidant activity.
L-lysine hydrochloride supports growth, appetite, and improves iron utilization in the body.


 

Use / Indication

It is used in iron deficiency anaemia.
It is used in nutritional anaemia due to vitamin B12 or folate deficiency.
It is used in general weakness and fatigue caused by low haemoglobin.
It is used during pregnancy to prevent and treat anaemia.
It is used in children and adults with poor dietary iron intake or malnutrition.


 

Direction of Use

It is taken orally in a measured dose as prescribed by a healthcare provider.
It is usually taken after meals to reduce gastric irritation.
It should be shaken well before use if in syrup form.
It should be taken regularly for several weeks to months for full correction of anaemia.


 

Side Effects

It may cause nausea or stomach upset.
It may cause constipation or diarrhoea.
It may cause dark stools, which is a normal effect of iron therapy.
It may cause abdominal discomfort or metallic taste.
Rarely, it may cause allergic reactions such as rash or itching.


 

Warnings

Iron overdose can be toxic and potentially life-threatening, especially in children.

Interactions
