Composition
Common composition per capsule/soft gel:
- Methylcobalamin (Vitamin B12) – 1500 mcg
- Alpha Lipoic Acid – 100 mg
- Benfotiamine (Vitamin B1 derivative) – 150 mg
- Myo-Inositol – 100 mg
- Folic Acid – 1.5 mg
- Chromium Picolinate – 200 mcg
- Selenium / Selenomethionine – 55 mcg
Some variants may also contain:
- Zinc
- Vitamin B6
- Vitamin E
Indication / Use
Used for:
- Diabetic neuropathy
- Nerve pain and nerve damage
- Tingling and numbness in hands/feet
- Nutritional deficiencies
- Weakness and fatigue
- Oxidative stress support
- Adjunct support in:
- Diabetic retinopathy
- Diabetic nephropathy
It is mainly a nerve health nutritional supplement / neuropathy support medicine.
Direction of Use
- Usually:
- 1 capsule daily
- Or as prescribed by doctor
- Can be taken:
- Best taken regularly at the same time daily
- Swallow whole with water
Side Effects
Common:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Constipation
- Heartburn
- Headache
- Dizziness
Less common:
- Skin rash
- Flushing
- Mild stomach discomfort
- Paresthesia (tingling sensation)
Rare:
- Allergic reactions
- Orthostatic hypotension (dizziness on standing)
- Swelling (oedema)
Warnings
- Use cautiously in:
- Diabetes (may influence blood sugar)
- Liver disease
- Kidney disease
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
- Use only after medical advice
- Do not exceed prescribed dose
- Keep out of reach of children
Interactions
May interact with:
- Antidiabetic medicines → may increase low blood sugar risk
- Methotrexate
- Phenytoin
- Carbamazepine
- Phenobarbital
- 5-Fluorouracil
- Oral contraceptives
- Antacids (may reduce absorption if taken together)
Caution
- Monitor blood sugar if diabetic
- Long-term vitamin overuse should be avoided unless supervised
- Supplements help support nerves but do NOT replace treatment of:
- Diabetes
- Nerve compression
- Underlying neurological disease
- If symptoms worsen despite treatment, medical review is needed
- Store below recommended temperature (commonly below 25°C)
