PRODUCT DETAILS
Composition
- 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- No added antibiotics or decongestants
- Natural oil-based cerumen (earwax) softening agent
It is a cerumenolytic (earwax softener), not a medicine for infection.
Use / Indication
Used to soften and loosen hardened earwax, helping with:
- Blocked or full ear sensation
- Reduced hearing due to wax buildup
- Ear discomfort from impacted cerumen
- Preparation before professional ear cleaning or syringing
It may help wax become softer so it can come out naturally or be removed more easily.
It is NOT used for ear infections, ear pain, or perforated eardrum
Direction of Use
- Lie with affected ear facing upward
- Instil 2–3 drops into the ear canal
- Keep head tilted for 5–10 minutes
- Massage gently around outer ear
- Use 1–2 times daily for up to 5–7 days
- Wipe away excess oil after use
Side Effects
Usually mild, but may include:
- Temporary blocked or muffled hearing (very common initially)
- Mild itching or irritation
- Dizziness (rare)
- Outer ear inflammation (rare)
Warning
- Do NOT use if:
- Ear infection or discharge is present
- Ear pain or inflammation exists
- Perforated (ruptured) eardrum is suspected
- Allergy to olive oil
- Do NOT insert objects (cotton buds) into ear during use
- Stop use if pain, discharge, or worsening blockage occurs
- Overuse may worsen wax build-up in some cases
Interaction
- No known drug interactions (local ear use)
- But avoid combining with:
- Other ear drops unless advised (may reduce effectiveness)
- Strong medicated ear preparations without spacing
Caution
- Temporary hearing reduction after use is normal due to wax swelling
- Use only room temperature oil (not heated)
- If symptoms persist after full course, ear examination is needed
- People with recurrent wax blockage may need professional removal instead of repeated oil use
- Generally considered safe in pregnancy and children (with caution and supervision in young children)
