PRODUCT DETAILS
Composition
This is a non-medicated vapour device, not a drug. It typically contains:
- Essential aromatic oils such as:
- Lavender oil
- Chamomile extract
- Eucalyptus oil
- Menthol
- Camphor (in small amounts in some variants)
- Plug-in heating unit with refill pads
- Built-in LED nightlight
The vapours are released slowly when the pad is warmed by the device.
Use / Indication
- Helps relieve blocked nose and congestion in children
- Supports easier breathing during:
- Common cold
- Flu
- Mild sinus congestion
- Helps children sleep more comfortably at night
- Provides a soft nightlight for comfort and visibility in the room
It does not treat infection—only helps ease symptoms.
Direction of Use
- Plug device into a wall socket
- Insert refill pad into unit
- Nightlight activates automatically in dark rooms
- Each pad typically lasts up to 8 hours
- Can be used overnight or during sleep periods
- Ensure room is moderately ventilated
- Replace pad when vapour weakens
Side Effects
Because it releases aromatic vapours, possible effects include:
- Mild nasal irritation or stinging (sensitive users)
- Sneezing
- Eye irritation if vapour is strong
- Headache (rare, from strong scent exposure)
- Allergic reaction (rare: rash, coughing, discomfort)
Some sources also note potential airway irritation in sensitive children.
Warning
- Not suitable for:
- Babies under 3 months (some guidance says under 3 months strictly avoid)
- Do not ingest pads (toxic if swallowed)
- Do not cover or block the device while in use
- Do not use in very small, unventilated spaces
- Keep away from bedding, curtains, and flammable materials
- Hot surfaces inside device—do not touch during use
- Use only approved refill pads (others may be unsafe)
- Stop use if coughing or breathing irritation occurs
Interaction
No true drug interactions, but caution with:
- Other strong inhaled products (e.g. menthol rubs, eucalyptus oils) → may cause additive irritation
- Asthma or reactive airway disease → may worsen symptoms in some children
- Cold medicines (paracetamol, antihistamines) → generally safe together
Caution
- Effect is symptomatic and mild, not a medical treatment
- Some children may not tolerate strong vapours well
- Should not replace:
- Saline nasal sprays
- Medical treatment for infections if needed
- Use with care in children with:
- Asthma
- Chronic cough
- Sensitive airways
- If congestion persists beyond a few days or worsens, underlying illness should be checked rather than relying on vapour plug
