Composition

• Sodium chloride (NaCl) 0.65% – 0.9% solution (normal saline)
• Sterile water for injection / purified water
• Some brands may include buffering agents (to maintain pH)

Use / Indication

• Relief of blocked or stuffy nose
• Common cold and flu symptoms
• Allergic rhinitis (hay fever)
• Sinus congestion
• Dry nasal passages (due to air conditioning, dust, or pollution)
• Helps loosen and clear mucus
• Safe for infants, children, adults, and elderly

Direction of Use

• Tilt head slightly backward
• Instill 1–2 drops in each nostril (or as directed)
• Use 2–4 times daily or as needed
• For infants: use minimal drops and gentle suction if needed
• Avoid touching dropper tip to nose
• Use separate dropper for each person to prevent infection

Side Effects

• Mild temporary burning or stinging sensation
• Sneezing after use
• Rare nasal irritation
• Very rarely, mild nose dryness if overused

(Generally very safe with minimal side effects.)

Warning

• Do not share dropper between users
• Do not use if solution becomes cloudy or contaminated
• Stop use if persistent irritation occurs
• Use sterile technique to avoid infection
• Keep out of reach of children

Interaction

• No significant drug interactions
• Safe with:
• Antibiotics
• Antihistamines
• Decongestant nasal sprays
• Other cold medications

Caution

• Use cautiously in:
• Post nasal surgery patients (only if advised)
• Severe nose injury or bleeding
• Avoid overuse of multiple nasal products together unless prescribed
• Ensure proper hygiene of bottle tip
• For infants, use only paediatric-appropriate drops and guidance
