Composition:
Contains:

  • Neomycin Sulphate (topical aminoglycoside antibiotic)
  • Bacitracin (topical polypeptide antibiotic)

Drug Class:

Use / Indication:
Used for the prevention and treatment of bacterial infection in:

  • Minor cuts and wounds
  • Abrasions and scratches
  • Minor burns
  • Superficial skin injuries
  • Infected or infection-prone skin lesions

 

Direction of Use:

  • Clean the affected area before application.
  • Shake well before use.
  • Spray onto the affected skin from a distance of approximately 20–25 cm.
  • Apply 2–3 times daily or as directed by a healthcare professional.
  • For external use only.

Side Effects:

Common:

  • Mild skin irritation
  • Redness
  • Itching
  • Burning or stinging sensation at the application site

Rare:

  • Allergic contact dermatitis
  • Hypersensitivity reactions to neomycin or bacitracin

Warnings:

  • For external use only.
  • Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes.
  • Do not apply to large areas of damaged skin unless advised by a healthcare professional.
  • Discontinue use if severe irritation or allergic reaction develops.
  • Do not use for prolonged periods without medical advice.

 

Drug Interactions:

  • Significant interactions are uncommon due to minimal systemic absorption.
  • Use caution when combining with other topical antibiotics on the same area.

 

Caution:

  • Avoid use in patients with known allergy to neomycin, bacitracin, or related antibiotics.
  • Seek medical advice if the wound becomes increasingly red, swollen, painful, or develops pus.
  • If symptoms persist beyond several days, medical review is recommended.
